Permis B | Permis C | Naturalization: fide language assessment
Switzerland’s new law on foreigners and integration (LEI) went into effect January 1, 2019. It introduces new provisions and highlights the need for foreigners to be integrated linguistically in the place where they live. That means that minimal mastery of French is now required in Vaud Canton to obtain permits B and C as well as for naturalization. In reaction to these new requirements, the fide Secretariat was commissioned by the State Secretariat for Migration (SEM) to create a language passport. This passport attests to the spoken and written language skills of its holder from Level A1 to B1.
